MCI is located in Dompierre-les-Ormes in the Saône-et-Loire region of France. Founded in 2009 by three partners, who at the time were dedicated to performing maintenance and installation in body shop cabins, the company started by producing equipment for treatment processes.

Over the years, MCI has grown its portfolio to include surface treatment tunnels, washing tunnels, and garnet blasting booths. Its production capabilities now extend to equipment for metalization, industrial painting, drying ovens, kilns, and overhead conveyor systems. This steady evolution has enabled MCI to serve a variety of industrial applications while maintaining a clear focus on process efficiency and quality.

"Over the past few years, MCI has also expanded into powder coating and industrial painting. We have several types of customers, like industrial manufacturers, anything to do with paint, and metalworkers. Also automobiles and aeronautics,” explains Olivier Bourdon, co-managing director of MCI. “We mainly process sheet metal, also some non-ferrous materials and some aluminium. We use stainless steel, in 304L or 316L. ”

Today MCI prides itself on its fully integrated production process, which includes in-house design, fabrication, and assembly. This ensures total control over manufacturing, from the initial project phase to final installation.

Fiber Technology: A Path to Enhanced Efficiency

As MCI's production demands grew, so did the need for a more efficient, cost-effective cutting solution. "We were facing issues with lead times and cost management, so we decided to invest in a fiber laser machine to improve our responsiveness and control internal costs," explains Bourdon.

The company adopted fiber laser technology in 2016, starting with a pre-owned machine. This cautious investment allowed MCI to assess the technology’s advantages before committing to further upgrades. When the benefits proved to be worth an upgrade, the company switched to a newer model: an Eagle eVision 1530 3kW.

"Fiber technology immediately appealed to us due to its simplicity and the configuration of our parts, as we use a lot of sheet metal, particularly fine sheet metal. Fiber technology was ideal and allowed us to integrate it with everything we design. The cutting speed and the ease of use of the machine were also important factors in our decision. We were quickly convinced by the equipment and its quality. We got used to it quite easily, it fits our standards, and today we are satisfied with what we have," says Bourdon.

The company benefits from a dedicated technical support team that ensures any operational questions or concerns are quickly addressed. "The collaboration with Eagle is excellent. Their technicians are attentive to our needs, and we receive guidance whenever necessary. Even though the machine is simple to use, having reliable support is essential," says Bourdon.

In addition, MCI takes advantage of Eagle’s digital connectivity features, allowing for direct maintenance requests from the CNC control panel, ensuring minimal downtime.

A Future Focused on Sustainability and Automation

Looking ahead, MCI remains committed to technological advancement. "We are constantly exploring ways to reduce energy costs for our customers and develop more sustainable solutions," Bourdon states. The company is actively working on hybridization technologies and energy-efficient systems to align with growing environmental demands.

As for its laser cutting capabilities, MCI is satisfied with its current setup but remains open to further advancements, particularly in automation. "We are considering an automatic loader, which could improve efficiency and responsiveness in our production flow," adds Bourdon.

By embracing fiber laser technology and fostering strategic partnerships like the one with Eagle, MCI continues to enhance its production capabilities while maintaining flexibility in a competitive industrial landscape.
